Overview

The three days’ safari to Murchison falls national park will take you to Uganda’s largest national park, which is a jewel of wildlife and doubles as the world’s most powerful waterfall. The park is located 305km from Kampala that is about 4-5 hours’ drive. You will get a chance to encounter a variety of wildlife like lions, giraffes, leopards, antelopes, hippos, and birds not forgetting the southern white rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route. In addition, enjoy the spectacular waterfall from its top.

Safari Summary

Day 1- Transfer from your hotel or pickup place in Kampala to Murchison Falls national park and Rhino tracking.

Day 2- Early morning game drive, launch cruise, and hike to the top of the falls

Day 3- Transfer back to Kampala.

You will be transferred from Kampala to Murchison falls national park. You will stop over at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is 176km from Kampala for the remarkable rhino tracking experience on foot and other animals like oribis, Uganda Kobs, after-tracking rhinos; you will continue with the journey and again stopover in Masindi town for lunch. After that continue to Murchison falls national park for an overnight stay.

Day 2- Early morning game drive, launch cruise and hike to the top of the falls

After your breakfast in the morning, the driver guide will pick you up at your lodge for the morning game drive who will take you through the tracks of the park as you encounter on the sprawling wildlife in the northern bank of the park like giraffes, lion, antelopes, buffalo herds, birds, hippos and birds. After which you will have lunch at your lodge as you prepared for the afternoon boat cruise at 2pm and hike to the top of the falls.

Day 3- Transfer back to Kampala.

After your breakfast, proceed for chimpanzee tracking, primates and nature walk in Budongo forest. Leave the park through the southern bank in Budongo forest, have a stopover in Masindi for lunch, and continue the journey to Kampala.

Best time to go

The best wildlife viewing months in Uganda are during the Dry seasons from June to August and December to February. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Rwanda.

The habitat of rain forests is, by default, very wet, and one can’t avoid rain completely.
