Safari Overview

The five days Gorilla and golden monkey tracking safari will take you to Uganda’s smallest national park in the southwestern corner of the country. The park is home to one group of Mountain gorillas and some of the 5000 golden monkeys that are in Uganda and Rwanda. The safari will take you from Kampala through the beautiful and flat landscapes in the Ankole Masaka corridor to the hilly and winding roads in Kabale and Kisoro. It will also give you a chance to encounter the Batwa who were fruit gatherers and hunters before the Mgahinga forest was gazetted as a national park.

Best time to go

The best wildlife viewing months in Uganda are during the Dry seasons from June to August and December to February. Primate walks in the forest are a big part of any safari in Rwanda.

The habitat of rain forests is, by default, very wet, and one can’t avoid rain completely.
